Although a lot of research has been done in the field and study of acne over time, the exact reason why some people get acne and some don’t is certainly not yet routine knowledge. It is well known that you are more vulnerable if a parent or close blood relative has suffered from it before, but that certainly can’t be the only factor. Until the answer does come, you will do well to work closely with someone who knows more, like a dermatologist.

Oil secreted by sebaceous glands percolates through the plugged duct onto the surface of the skin, and sticks to dust and dead cells that should otherwise have been discarded from the body. Add that to sweat and other microbes incident in the same places, and you may understand how it is inevitable that most humans get to suffer from zits at some time in their lives. Only when they grow beyond the age that hormones secrete will they truly be free from the condition. And it they never do, they never heal.

Acne can manifest in various ways, and so people refer to it by various names like zits and spots, pimples and acne. Often it looks like typical acne lesions such as comedones, papules, and pustules. Do not get worked up by the strange names; they merely imply that the zits you suffer from might not be the regular type, and you might need to tell your physician about it. The sooner you do, the sooner you can know which way you’re headed for a solution.

Nodules and inflammatory cysts often appear on people’s skins when they are going to be getting severe acne. One of the more severe forms of the complaint is known as cystic acne, known to happen specifically when the foregoing happens. Watch out for the cysts and nodules, and the events that bring them about.
