There are different types of nail fungus, but some of the facts regarding all the nail fungus are common. The most common thing is that fungus grown in the dark. Places which are full with moisture and are warmth, fungus will thrive at that place. Another important factor for causing the nail fungus is the poor hygiene and other ill life circumstances. Besides this, some of the other key factors which can cause nail fungus infection are the emotional issues, medication and some other medical problems.

It has been observed that even the common fungi can affect the surface of the nail, skin which is surrounding the nail and even the nail bed. If there are some weak spots or tiny cuts on the skin then fungi can easily enter in the body. If there are right conditions for the growth of the fungi then the nail fungi will be active and ultimately leads to the nail fungus infection.

Any person can be subjected to the risk of the nail fungus infections. But mainly people who are above the age of 65 are at higher risks. And the people who work in such type of environment where the both feet and hands are in direct contact with moisture are more prone to the infection.
